An elderly woman spent several days in jail for a suspended license (which wasn’t correct it had been reinstated) and even though she could have been released without bail. The justice system simply didn’t see her. This is an example of the disdain with which the elderly are often treated in our society. We should all try to perceive everyone as an individual and not as an “old person” or a “disabled person” or whatever; everyone is a human being who deserves respect and attention to their needs.
